Privacy Policy
There is no account, and everything you set up in the app stays on your own device. The one exception is Google Analytics, which counts visits so I can see whether anyone is using TradeBell.
The short version
The app itself has no server. Your market hours, timeframes, sounds and every other setting are held in your own browser and are never sent anywhere.
Separately, the site loads Google Analytics, which records anonymous visit statistics — which pages were opened, roughly where in the world from, and on what kind of device. It sets cookies to do this. It cannot see anything you configure in the app, and it has no connection to any broker or to your trading. The section below sets out exactly what it collects and how to switch it off.
What is stored, and where
Your settings are saved in your browser's local storage, on your own device. That includes your market hours and timezone, which timeframes you enabled, your chosen sounds, lead times and flash colours, your theme and volume, and a short list of recent alerts.
This data never leaves your device. It is not readable by us or by anyone else. Clearing your browser data — or using Reset everything to defaults in Advanced — erases it permanently.
Analytics
TradeBell uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-69VWVGZR57) to understand how many people use the site and which pages they open. It is used for nothing else — no advertising, no remarketing, no profiling, and no selling of data to anyone.
Google Analytics collects:
- Pages you view on tradebell.org, when, and how long you stayed.
- The site or search that referred you here, if any.
- An approximate location — typically country, region or city — derived from your IP address. Google does not make your full IP address available in reports.
- Device and browser information: mobile or desktop, operating system, browser, screen size, language.
- A randomly generated identifier stored in two cookies,
_gaand_ga_69VWVGZR57, so a repeat visit is recognised as the same browser rather than a new person. These typically last up to two years.
To understand whether the alarm is actually used — and for how long — the app also sends a few anonymous usage events to Google Analytics: when you start the alarm (and how many alerts are switched on), a periodic "still running" ping while it is armed, one event each time a beep sounds, and a short summary (total minutes armed and number of alerts) when you stop it or close the tab. These carry only counts and durations — never which timeframes, times, sounds or lead times you chose, and nothing that identifies you. They are subject to exactly the same consent and opt-out as everything else here: if you decline (or block analytics), none of them are sent.
This data is processed by Google, may be stored on servers outside your country, and is governed by Google's privacy policy. Google describes how it handles Analytics data here.
Consent, and how to opt out
If you are visiting from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, analytics is switched off when the page loads — no cookies are set — and you are asked first. Nothing is measured unless you choose "Allow". You can change that decision at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer; declining also deletes the analytics cookies immediately.
Elsewhere, analytics is on by default. You can still opt out at any time:
- Install Google's official Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Turn on your browser's tracking protection, or use any content blocker — TradeBell works perfectly with analytics blocked, and nothing in the app depends on it.
- Clear the cookies for tradebell.org at any time.
What is still never collected
- No name, email address, phone number or any other information that identifies you personally.
- No account, because there is nothing to sign up for.
- None of your app settings. Your market hours, timeframes, sounds, lead times and alert history are never transmitted — analytics cannot see them.
- No trading data. TradeBell has no connection to any broker or exchange and cannot see your positions, orders or balances. It is a clock, not a trading platform.
- No advertising identifiers, ad networks or remarketing tags.
- Nothing is ever sold or shared with data brokers.
Permissions the app may ask for
- Sound — browsers require you to interact with a page before it can play audio. That interaction is what unlocks the alert sound. Nothing is recorded; the microphone is never accessed.
- Keep screen awake — optional, and only used to stop your phone sleeping while alerts are armed.
- Notifications — optional, and only used to show a candle close alert. Notifications are generated on your device.
- Vibration — optional, and only used to buzz alongside an alert.
Your location is never requested. To suggest market hours, TradeBell reads the timezone your device is already set to — a single value such as "Asia/Kolkata" that the browser exposes to every website. It is used on your device to pick a market preset and is never transmitted.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted on Hostinger. Like virtually every web host, their servers keep standard access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested file, browser user-agent) for security and reliability. These logs are created by the hosting infrastructure, not by TradeBell, and are governed by Hostinger's privacy policy. We do not analyse, export or combine them with anything else.
Third parties
Google Analytics is the only third-party script on this site. Everything else — the app code, styles, fonts and icons — is served from tradebell.org. There are no ads, no ad networks, no embedded widgets, no social media trackers and no session recording of any kind.
Outbound links to X, Google and Hostinger are clearly labelled and are only followed when you click them.
Children
TradeBell is a tool for adults trading financial markets and is not directed at children. Since no data is collected from anyone, none is collected from children either.
Cookies
The only cookies this site sets are the two Google Analytics ones described above. TradeBell itself uses no cookies — your settings are kept in local storage, which is not sent to any server.
Your rights
Regulations such as the EU/UK GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act give you rights over your personal data, including access, correction, deletion and objecting to processing.
I hold no personal data about you directly — there is no account, no database and no mailing list, and your app settings never leave your device. The only data that exists is the anonymous analytics Google processes on my behalf. You can stop that at any time using the opt-out options above, and you can exercise your rights over Google's processing through Google's privacy tools. If you have a request or a concern, get in touch and I will help.
Changes to this policy
If TradeBell ever gains a feature that changes any of the above, this page will be updated before that feature ships, and the date below will change.
